My passion for photography is the outcome of a life of adventure - from working on Tuna Clippers out of San Pedro, CA, to flying planes and owning & operating an out-island resort in the Bahamas. As the son of a Hollywood actor who later became a TV personality in Detroit, Michigan, Bill Kennedy, I grew up on many western movie sets and location sites throughout the early 1950s.
I took a year off from my business in the late 1970s to try following in my dad's footsteps and managed to land parts in four films and starred in an award-winning play, but I had to return to the Bahamas for opportunities I couldn't ignore.
I have lived in South Florida since the 1960s. Before retiring. I never spent much time exploring Florida until taking up photography. Since then, I discovered wildlife and landscape opportunities in the Florida Everglades, documenting moments in history, including environmental issues, with my lens.
In the last five years, I have expanded my curiosity beyond Florida. Now I also explore our nation on road trips in my RV, capturing moments such as the protests at Standing Rock, the beauty of Yellowstone's National Park, and Jim Realbird's reenactment of the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
I consider myself more of an "image-maker" than a photographer. I take pictures that catch my imagination and present them to you with my interpretation.
You may have been to some of the same places as me, but if you are not into photography or missed an opportunity to preserve a stunning vista, I can offer a solution. I have some exciting images to share from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, with many stops in-between. I'd love to hear your comments and memories of places I have traveled to, or you may be planning to go.
It is not practicable to share all of the images taken over the years. However, I would be happy to provide pictures not posted on my site to fit a theme for high-quality wall art in your home or office.
